pest

a couple weeks back jack decided that he is too mature to be using a booster seat anymore... luckily i'm used to these sorts of revelations from jack (breast feeding, bottles...) and have learned to just go with the flow. this is how the crazy kid prefers to eat now... notice the sad, abandoned booster on the floor. i ordered him a little table with chairs so hopefully he'll think that's cool enough to eat on... if not, it will make a swell project table for many years. such a pest.

barnes and noble

we had some crappy weather last week so had to get creative with ways to keep jack busy. we headed to the mall the other day and went to barnes and noble... the mall was packed with other parents and their kids- guess it's a common solution. jack was very entertained by some little girls that were also there playing- and of course all the books and toys that they have in the kids area.

totally forgot to put pics up from nicole and jason's visit. it was so short but since we're moving back soon and we'll see each other a TON more, it wasn't a sad departure for once! we took a trip up to jerome and sedona which actually might be the last time for a long time for all of us! we'll see, i may have to go up one last time sometime this month.

R&R

i went to santa fe last weekend to visit dave. it was a very nice, relaxing visit and a much needed escape from the daily grind of having a toddler. dave is an amazing host; his mother would be very proud. i forced myself to get up early and go monday morning because if i put it off any longer he would have had a hard time getting rid of me!

serendipity...

jack had the best day ever in his whole life today at the park. the sprinklers must have been set wrong (or somebody is an idiot) and they came on and blasted the grass for a good 15 minutes. the grassy area quickly became a mud pit. jack had the time of his life, running, splashing, and laughing his head off all the while.

don't worry, he had a bath when we got home...

A is for Aspen

i've been making these letters for all the kid's birthdays recently and i always forget to take a pic before i give it to them! here is the one i made today for laura's daughter aspen, who is turning one. it started off a little too girly for my liking so i distressed it a bit. i made a great one for jessica's son colton, i'll have to remember to take a pic of it the next time i'm at their house.

another new product

i added another new product to the BJO website... scrapbook pages. i finally started working on some pages for jack and thought maybe they would interest my customers too...? we'll see. i really like digital scrapbooking.... i tried to get into traditional paper scrapping but found it way too time consuming and costly... plus, i'd spend all sorts of time on something and i wouldn't like how it turned out! at least with digital you always have the delete button! : )

i have a friend, laura, who has never met jack because either he is sick or one of her kids is sick.... or we are doing a child-less activity. it has been our ongoing joke that i don't really have a son and made him up in order to make friends with other moms. well, today the stars finally aligned for a meeting and we were able to get our kids together to play. here are some photos of jack and laura's daughter, aspen. she's turning one this month but outweighs jack by 5 pounds!! she is adorable and very cuddly. laura's son, river, and a little girl that she babysits were also there but were to busy playing when i took these photos.
